Paw Stomp is an experimental ground temperature estimator. It uses a proprietary algorithm that combines data from your phone's camera — to analyze the surface — with local weather information to generate a real-time ESTIMATE of the ground temperature before you and your dog leave the house.

Please understand that Paw Stomp is an informational tool, not a measurement device.

It's an ESTIMATE — The reading is based on an algorithm and cannot account for all environmental variables.
It Warns, It Doesn't Approve — Our app will only provide a warning if conditions are estimated to be UNSAFE. It will NEVER give you an "all-clear" or tell you that it is "safe" to walk. The absence of a warning does not guarantee safety.
You Are the Final Decision-Maker — The most reliable safety tool is you. Always physically test the surface with the back of your hand for 5–7 seconds before walking your dog.

Privacy Policy for Paw Stomp

Jennings Applied Media LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Paw Stomp mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy outlines our data practices, explaining what information the App uses, what information we collect, and why.

Our core privacy principle is On-Device Processing. Paw Stomp is designed to perform its key functions directly on your iPhone. Sensitive data from your camera and GPS is processed in real-time on your device and is never transmitted to, stored on, or viewed by our servers.

1. Information We Do Not Collect or Transmit

We want to be explicit about the data we never access:

Camera Images or Videos — The App does not save or upload any images or videos from your camera. All camera processing happens in real-time on your device.
Precise Location History — We do not track or store a history of your location over time.
Contacts or Personal Files — We do not access your contacts, messages, or other personal files on your device.

2. Information We Do Collect

Our data collection is limited to what is essential for app functionality:

Account Information — If you create an account, we collect your email address (or Apple ID if using Sign in with Apple) and a secure password hash. This is used for authentication via Firebase Authentication.
Disclaimer Agreement — When you agree to our disclaimer, we store a record in our database (Firebase Firestore) including your user ID, the agreement timestamp, app version, and device type. This serves as legal documentation of your acceptance.
Dog Profile Name and Breed — If you add your dog's name and breed, this information is synced via Apple iCloud to your other devices. This data is stored by Apple, not on our servers.
Dog Profile Photo — If you add a photo of your dog, it is stored locally on your device only. The photo is not uploaded to our servers or synced to iCloud.
App Usage Data — We store your walking streak, achievements, and app preferences via Apple iCloud Key-Value Storage. This data syncs across your Apple devices and is managed by Apple.
Anonymous Crash Data — We may collect non-personal, anonymous crash reports to improve app stability. This data is not linked to your identity.

3. Third-Party Services

Paw Stomp uses the following third-party services:

Firebase (Google) — We use Firebase Authentication for account management and Firebase Firestore to store disclaimer agreements. Firebase's privacy policy applies to data processed by Firebase.
Apple WeatherKit — We fetch weather data from Apple's WeatherKit service using your current location. Apple's privacy policy governs this data.
Apple iCloud — Your streak, achievements, and dog profile (name/breed) sync via Apple's iCloud Key-Value Storage. Apple's privacy policy applies.

We do not sell your data to any third parties.

4. Apple Watch Companion App

If you use the Paw Stomp Apple Watch app, location and temperature data is shared between your iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple's Watch Connectivity framework. This data transfer occurs directly between your devices and does not pass through our servers.

5. Device Permissions

Location (GPS)

Purpose: Used to fetch local weather data for temperature estimates.

Data Handling: Your location is sent to Apple WeatherKit but is not stored by us.

Camera

Purpose: Used for AR surface detection (Premium feature).

Data Handling: All processing happens on-device; no images are saved or transmitted.

Photos

Purpose: Used only if you choose to add a dog profile photo.

Data Handling: The selected photo is stored locally on your device.

Notifications

Purpose: Used to alert you about temperature conditions.

Data Handling: We do not use notifications for marketing.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect data processed through Firebase. Data synced via Apple iCloud is protected by Apple's security infrastructure. Since camera and location data is processed on-device, it remains secured by your phone's own security systems.

7. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

You may delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at info@jenningsappliedmedia.com. Upon account deletion, we will remove your data from Firebase within 30 days. Data stored in your personal iCloud account is managed by you through Apple.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the Paw Stomp mobile application (the "App") operated by Jennings Applied Media LLC ("us," "we," or "our").

Your access to and use of the App is conditioned upon your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who wish to access or use the App. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you do not have permission to access the App.

1. Eligibility and Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use this App. If you are under 18 years of age, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

2. Description of Service

The Paw Stomp App is a tool designed to provide an estimate of ground surface temperatures based on available data, such as local weather and user-provided inputs via the device's camera. The purpose of the App is to serve as a supplementary guide for pet owners to assess the potential risk of hot or cold surfaces to their pets' paws. The App includes both free features and premium features available through in-app purchase.

3. Premium Features and In-App Purchases

Certain features of the App ("Premium Features") require a one-time in-app purchase. Premium Features include, but are not limited to, AR ground scanning, hourly forecasts, and advanced walk insights.

All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's terms and conditions.
Purchases are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or Apple's refund policies.
You may restore previous purchases on a new device using the "Restore Purchases" feature.

4. Acknowledgment of Risk and Disclaimer of Warranty

This App provides an ESTIMATE ONLY and is not a substitute for a direct physical measurement device, professional advice, or personal judgment. You, the user, acknowledge and agree to the following:

For Informational Purposes Only — The temperature reading provided by the App is an algorithm-based estimation. Actual ground temperatures can vary significantly due to factors not fully captured by the App, including but not limited to direct sun exposure, surface material, humidity, and microclimates.
Not Veterinary Advice — This App is not a substitute for professional veterinary guidance. Consult a licensed veterinarian for any health concerns about your pet.
User Judgment is Final — The safety of your pet is your sole responsibility. You should always use your own judgment. Before allowing your pet to walk on a potentially hot surface, physically test the surface yourself (e.g., with the back of your hand).
"AS IS" Basis — The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Data Accuracy — Temperature estimates rely on third-party weather data and GPS location services, which may be inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Jennings Applied Media LLC, its directors, employees, partners, or affiliates be liable for any injury, loss, claim, or any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, injury to any pet or person, resulting from:

(i) Your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the App;
(ii) Any information or output obtained from the App;
(iii) Any reliance you place on the temperature estimates provided by the App.

6. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Jennings Applied Media LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

7. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the App at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms, is harmful to other users, or is otherwise objectionable. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease.

8. Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Jennings Applied Media LLC. Under United States law, copyright protection applies automatically to original works upon creation. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without permission.

9. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the App:

In any way that violates any applicable national or international law or regulation.
To attempt to decompile, reverse engineer, or disassemble the App.
To interfere with or disrupt the App or servers connected to the App.
For any purpose other than its intended use as a supplementary pet safety tool.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days, either party may pursue resolution through the courts of North Carolina.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, providing notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
